Perrelet has recently previewed a moonphase watch with quite a full-moon feel, the Big Central Moonphase.
When one first takes a glance on the watch, he is likely to be attracted by the full moon on the dial. And that’s why I describe it “the watch with a full-moon feel”.
Yes, the watch company, Perrelet, has deliberately placed the moonphase display at front and center for its newest timepiece. What’s more, the scale of the moonphase is dramatically maximized to achieve the eye-catching visual effect. Due to the big moonphase on the dial, although the case is measured in a medium 42mm size, the watch looks big too. Besides the eye-catching full moon, the second hand in blue is straight and clear too as the hour and minute hands are designed in white arrow shape.
As a watch to be presented in this year’s Basel Watch Fair, the Perrelet has designed the moonphase timepiece not only artistically but also practically. First of all, it has the moonphase function. Then, its central hands clearly indicate the hours, minutes, seconds and even date. The steel case in 14.3mm thickness houses an automatic movement which reserves power to 40 hour power and goes accurately without correction for more than 100 years. It is really precise and powerful.
Actually, the Perrelet 42mm Big Central Moonphase contains three interacting central parts, the carrier, the starwheel and the pinion. Finishing off the big Central Moonphase is the stainless steel or black alligator strap in 20/18mm width with a deployant buckle.
A single piece of this asks for $5,500 in the United States. I personally think it is worthy of the price for such an eye-catching and powerful moonphrase watch. One has to spend a certain amount of money to get the glamour and high quality in life.
